拉丁语:Gallia est omnis dīvīsa in partēs trēs, quārum ūnam incolunt Belgae, aliam Aquītānī, tertiam, qui ipsōrum linguā Celtae, nostrā Gallī appellantur.
英语:Gaul as a whole was divided into three parts, of which the Belgae inhabit one, the Aquitani inhabit another, those who in their own language are called Celts, in our language are called Gauls, inhabit the third part. All these are different by languages, customs, and laws among themselves. The Garumna river divides the Gauls from Aquantani, the Matrona and Sequana divide the Gauls from Belgae.
The strongest of all of these are the Belgae, because they are farthest away from civilization and culture of the Province, and least often merchants go to them, and least often they bring in those things which pertain to weakening their spirits, and they are nearest to the Germani, who live across the Rhine, with whom they wage war continuously. For which reasons the Helevetians also surpassed the rest of Gaul in courage, because they struggle with the Germans in battles almost everyday when either they prevent them from their territory, or they themselves wage war in their territory.
